Abstract

The aim of this paper is to contribute to the development of the process of exploitation of side (side) products in forestry. The results obtained, the issues that were discussed, the experience in this field, as well as literature that is used during the operation, should provoke thinking in the same direction. Results of laboratory tests showed that the yield of the analyzed essential oils sawmills signifi cantly higher at the end of the growing season than at the beginning of vegetation, with the highest amounts in berries and 1.50 cm3 oil/ 100g sample, and the lowest in pine and 0.53 cm3 oil/100g sample. Analysis of forest management plan forest estate “Prijedor” were found to be a great source of untapped forest resources, from which can be obtained essential oil of high quality.
