Trends analysis of climate types change in Foca area

The First National Report about Climate Change in BiH project change in climate character in accordance with the global scenario. According to this climate model, BiH will be continuously affected with global warming, and the same model indicates a change of precipitation regime and drought. In Foca, for period 1951-1980, average annual air temperature was decreased for 0.1 °C. Potential evapotranspiration for the same period is the highest in the summer, and the actual evapotranspiration increases with reserves of readily available moisture in soil, so the highest value reached in July. Water deficit in active adsorption soil layer occurs during the summer months, while water sufficit is recorded in colder part of the year. The Second National Report about Climate Change in BiH, show an increase in average annual air temperature for 0.4-0.6 °C and increase of annual precipitation 0-20% in Foca area, for period 1981-2010 (compared to the referent period 1960-1990). The precipitation and temperature increasment that is recorded only for the last two decades is a real concern because of the fact that climate change is becoming more rapid and intense. The aim is characterization of climate change trend in Foca area, determination of climate types for analyzed period, and a more comprehensive understanding of climate change and its potential impacts on forest ecosystems.
