Abstract

This paper examined some ofthe key problems for improving forest management planning system in the Republic of Srpska: forest inventory method for development of forest management plans, contents of forest management plans, legislation for development of forest management plans, performance projects for execution of forest management plans, expert training offoresters etc. Paper provided a short analysis and critical evaluation of the existing conditions, and proposal of measures for improving management planning. The conclusion was that forest management planning system in the Republic of Srpska is a high-quality system as a whole, and it fulfills most of the standards and requirements of the contemporary forest management planning. However, its maintenance and advancement requires permanent efforts.
