Abstract

In this paper the results of measuring dimensional changes of beech radial planks sawn from different log height are presented. Dimensions from raw to equilibrium moisture content (10.6%) state were measured. Relationship between height of trunk and deformation of width was found. Testing proved significant difference between shrinkage of width of lumber sawn from up and botom trunk. There is no signifi cant difference in other cases.
