One of the main factors infl uencing the seed quality and afterwards its germinability and growth of the seedlings are the fungi causing mycosis of forest seed and fruit. This paper deals with the most frequent mycosis occured in objects intended for production, as well the mycosis occured during seed storage. Diseases of forest seeds and fruits and their dispersal are primarly infl uenced by external causes, place and manner of collection, the quality, way of processing, and by the methods and conditions of preservation. Some parasite fungi of Alternaria, Botrytis, Fusarium, Pythium genus, as well saprophyte fungi of Aspergillus and Penicillium genus, can under certain circumstances penetrate seed embryo. The outbreak of disease is then in the phase of seed germination causing emerged plants to be lodged. Conifers seed is very sensitive, while the most dangerous causes of lodging are fungi of Fusarium genus.
