Abstract

Forest roads permanently open forests and enable usage of their space and recources. A Maintenance costs depend on the quality of construction, as well as on the road category and terrain conditions. The approximate maintenance costs of forest road are around 2-4% of its construction cost which is around 70,000 KM/km. The management unit “Prosara”, which belongs to the Forest ecoomy region „Posavsko“, was taken for the filed study. Total length of forest roads was 33 km or 330 hectometers units. We singled out in random manner 33 hectometer units as a sample. For each chosen section were determined sort and the size of damages, measured or estimated and on the basis of determined damages, measures and costs for their repairing were defined.
